Possible Causes
Mower operating on slope beyond Makita specification, Faulty tilt sensor, Loose tilt sensor mounting, Uneven ground causing frequent tipping
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF the mower and move it to level ground.
- Check slope: Verify that the area where E6 occurs is within the maximum slope angle specified by Makita. Steeper areas should be excluded with boundary wire.
- Inspect wheels and chassis: Ensure wheels are not excessively worn and that the mower sits level. Replace worn wheels if they cause instability.
- Check for ground holes: Fill in deep holes or ruts that could cause the mower to tilt suddenly.
- Internal sensor check: If you are experienced, open the top cover and verify the tilt sensor module is firmly mounted and its connector is secure.
- Reset: Place the mower on flat ground, power ON, clear E6, and test.
If E6 triggers even on flat ground, the tilt sensor module is likely defective and should be replaced by a Makita technician.
