Possible Causes
Guide wire not connected or broken, Charging station placed incorrectly, Boundary wire layout confusing docking, Faulty docking sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF the mower before adjusting wiring.
- Check guide wire: Ensure the guide wire is properly connected to the station and runs from remote areas back to the dock as per Makita instructions.
- Station placement: Place the station on a flat area with a clear, straight approach and enough free boundary wire in front.
- Observe docking attempt: Start a manual “Return to base” and watch where the mower loses the path. Adjust guide or boundary wire in that area.
- Check for obstacles: Remove items that may block the mower’s path back to the station.
If the mower cannot detect the station despite correct wiring and placement, the docking sensor or station electronics may be faulty.
