Possible Causes

Dirty or damaged wheel encoder disc, Faulty wheel speed sensor, Loose encoder sensor mounting, Broken encoder wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF power and disconnect the battery before removing wheels.

  • Access encoder: Remove the affected drive wheel per the Mammotion service instructions to expose the encoder disc and sensor.
  • Clean encoder: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust, grass, and mud from the encoder disc and sensor window.
  • Inspect disc: Check for cracks, missing segments, or warping of the encoder disc. Replace if damaged.
  • Sensor alignment: Ensure the encoder sensor is firmly mounted and aligned with the disc. Tighten any loose screws.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the cable from the encoder sensor to the mainboard for cuts or pulled connectors.
  • Reassemble and test. Persistent E009 usually indicates a failed wheel encoder sensor that must be replaced.
