Possible Causes
Shorted blade motor windings, Water ingress into blade motor, Damaged blade motor cable, Shorted blade driver MOSFETs on mainboard
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power, disconnect the battery, and wear gloves before working near the blade motor.
- Visual inspection: Check the blade motor housing for cracks, rust, or signs of water entry.
- Cable check: Follow the blade motor cable to the mainboard. Look for cuts, crushed insulation, or melted sections.
- Smell test: A burnt smell near the motor or mainboard often indicates an electrical short.
- Resistance test (advanced): With the motor disconnected, measure resistance across motor terminals. A very low reading (near 0 Ω) suggests a shorted motor.
- If a short is confirmed or suspected, replace the blade motor. If the motor tests good, the mainboard blade driver circuit may be damaged and require board replacement.
