Possible Causes
Open or shorted left drive motor, Damaged left motor cable, Faulty left motor driver on mainboard, Water ingress into left motor housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF the mower and disconnect the battery before testing motors.
- Check for water/damage: Inspect the left drive motor housing and connector for corrosion or physical damage.
- Cable inspection: Follow the left motor cable to the mainboard. Look for abrasions or pinch points.
- Swap test (if possible): On some models, you can swap left and right motor connectors at the mainboard. If the error moves to the right side, the mainboard driver is suspect; if it stays on the left, the motor/cable is at fault.
- Resistance check: Measure resistance across the left motor terminals. Infinite or very low resistance indicates a fault.
- Replace the left drive motor assembly if defective. If the motor is good, the mainboard motor driver channel may need replacement.
