Possible Causes
Worn drive motor gearbox, Damaged blade motor bearings, Loose blade disc or fasteners, Foreign objects trapped under chassis
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF and disconnect the battery before investigating noises. Wear hearing protection if running tests indoors.
- Localize noise: Run the mower briefly while safely observing to determine if the noise comes from the blade area or wheels.
- Inspect underside: Turn the mower on its side and remove any stones, branches, or debris contacting the blade disc or chassis.
- Check blade disc: Ensure the blade disc mounting bolt is tight and there is no play on the motor shaft.
- Wheel test: Manually rotate each drive wheel. Grinding or clicking suggests gearbox wear; replace the affected drive motor assembly.
- Blade motor test: With blades removed, briefly run the blade motor. If noise persists, the motor bearings may be worn and the motor should be replaced.
