Possible Causes

Cover not fully closed, Cover switch misaligned, Broken cover latch, Faulty cover sensor switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the main switch before adjusting the cover.

  • Check cover closure: Close the top cover firmly until you hear a click. Ensure no cables or objects are trapped in the seal.
  • Inspect latch and hinges: Look for broken plastic around the latch or hinge that might prevent full closure.
  • Locate cover switch: Inside the mower, identify the small switch or magnetic sensor that detects the cover. Confirm it is not loose or damaged.
  • Test switch operation: With the cover open and power ON, gently press the switch with an insulated tool to simulate closure. If the error clears, the cover may not be actuating the switch correctly and needs adjustment.
  • Adjust or replace: Bend the actuator tab slightly (if metal) or reposition the switch so the cover reliably triggers it. Replace the switch if it does not change state when pressed.
