Possible Causes
Faulty hall sensor in drive motor, Damaged motor cable, Magnetic encoder failure, Main PCB speed sensing circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the main switch and wear gloves.
- Check wheel movement: Spin each drive wheel by hand and listen for unusual noises. Excessive play or grinding may indicate internal motor damage.
- Inspect motor cables: Follow the cables from each drive motor to the main PCB. Ensure connectors are secure and cables are not cut or crushed.
- Swap motors (advanced): On some models, left and right motor connectors can be swapped temporarily to see if the error follows a specific motor. Only do this if clearly labeled and safe.
- If a specific motor is faulty: Replace the complete drive motor assembly, which includes the speed sensor.
- If both motors test OK: The main PCB speed sensing circuit may be defective and require replacement.
