Possible Causes
Shorted drive motor winding, Mechanical binding in wheel, Damaged motor driver on PCB, Water ingress into motor housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the main switch and remove the mower from the lawn.
- Inspect wheels for binding: Check for stones, branches, or wire jammed in the wheel area. Remove any obstructions.
- Check for water damage: Look for signs of water inside the wheel motor housing or rust on the shaft.
- Measure motor resistance (advanced): With the motor disconnected, use a multimeter to compare resistance between the two motor terminals on each side. A significantly lower reading on one motor suggests a short.
- Replace faulty motor: If one motor is clearly defective, replace the entire drive motor/gearbox assembly.
- If motors are OK: The motor driver stage on the main PCB may be damaged and the PCB will need replacement.
