Possible Causes

Mower parked on steep slope, Tilt sensor out of calibration, Tilt sensor module failure, Loose tilt sensor mounting

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch OFF the main power and move the mower to flat, stable ground before inspection.

  • Check terrain: Ensure the charging station and starting area are on level ground. Relocate the charging station if it is on a slope that exceeds the mower's specification.
  • Inspect for obstruction: Verify the mower is not riding up on roots, stones, or edging that cause it to tilt excessively.
  • Locate tilt sensor: Inside the mower, the tilt sensor is usually a small module fixed to the chassis. Confirm it is firmly attached and not loose.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the tilt sensor harness for damage and ensure the connector is fully seated on the main PCB.
  • Reset: With the mower on level ground, turn the main switch OFF for 30 seconds, then ON again. If E4 continues on level ground, the tilt sensor module likely needs replacement.
