Possible Causes
Worn cutting motor bearings, Damaged drive motor gearbox, Bent blade disc, Loose or damaged pivoting blades
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the main switch and wear gloves.
- Identify noise source: Run the mower briefly while lifted slightly (blades disabled if possible) to determine if noise comes from wheels or blade area.
- Inspect blade disc and blades: Check for bent disc, missing screws, or loose pivoting blades. Replace damaged parts.
- Check wheel gearboxes: Spin wheels by hand and listen for grinding. Replace noisy drive motor/gearbox assemblies.
- Inspect cutting motor: With blades removed, run the cutting motor. A loud whine or rumble suggests worn bearings and the motor should be replaced.
