Possible Causes

Grass or rope wrapped around blade disc, Seized blade motor bearings, Damaged blade motor, Foreign object jammed under cutting deck

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the main switch, remove the battery or pull the main fuse, and wait for all moving parts to stop. Wear heavy gloves before touching the blades.

  • Inspect for obstructions: Turn the mower on its side. Remove grass clumps, twine, branches, or stones from around the blade disc and cutting chamber.
  • Check blade disc rotation: Manually rotate the blade disc. It should turn smoothly with slight resistance. If it is stiff or jammed, continue cleaning until it moves freely.
  • Inspect blades: Check each pivoting blade on the NAC blade disc. Replace any bent, broken, or seized blades using original NAC blades and screws.
  • Check motor shaft: Look for signs of overheating or melted plastic around the blade motor hub. If the shaft wobbles excessively or feels rough when turned by hand (with blades removed), the motor bearings may be damaged.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit blades securely, ensuring correct torque on screws. Reinstall battery, power ON, and start a test mow. If E04 returns quickly with no visible blockage, the blade motor may be failing and require replacement.

Warning: Never work under the mower with power connected. Always use NAC‑approved replacement blades and hardware.
