Possible Causes
Cutting grass that is too tall or wet, Blocked cooling vents in mower housing, Failing blade motor drawing excess current, Overloaded drive motors on steep slopes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and allow it to cool in a shaded, dry area. Do not spray water on a hot motor.
- Inspect for blockages: Check the underside and side vents of the NAC mower for packed grass and debris. Clean thoroughly with a brush or low‑pressure air.
- Reduce cutting load: If the lawn is very tall, pre‑cut with a conventional mower or raise the cutting height on the robot and gradually lower it over several days.
- Check wheel movement: Ensure both drive wheels rotate freely by hand. Binding wheels increase motor load and heat.
- Monitor operation: After cleaning, run a short test. If E09 appears quickly under light load, the affected motor (blade or drive) may have internal damage and should be replaced.
Warning: Persistent overheating can damage electronics. Do not repeatedly reset and run without addressing the cause.
