Possible Causes

Loose display/control panel ribbon cable, Oxidized connector pins, Faulty control panel PCB, Main board communication driver failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and remove the battery before opening the control panel or main housing.

  • Inspect cables: Remove the top control panel and locate the ribbon cable or harness connecting it to the main board. Carefully disconnect and reconnect both ends.
  • Clean connectors: If pins appear dull or oxidized, gently clean with contact cleaner and a lint‑free swab, then reconnect.
  • Check for pin damage: Ensure no pins are bent or pushed back in the connector housing.
  • Panel substitution: If available, test with a known‑good NAC control panel. If communication is restored, replace the faulty panel.
  • Main board check: If a good panel still shows E18, the main PCB may have a communication circuit fault and require replacement.

Warning: Do not force ribbon cables; they are fragile and easily damaged.
