Possible Causes

Misadjusted lift sensor bracket, Weak or broken lift sensor spring, Sensor out of calibration after impact, Faulty lift sensor electronics

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and remove the battery before adjusting mechanical parts.

  • Inspect lift mechanism: Remove the top cover and observe how the lift sensor is actuated when the mower is lifted. Check for bent brackets or missing springs.
  • Adjust position: If the sensor is a microswitch, ensure the actuator arm engages it only when the mower is significantly lifted, not by small vibrations.
  • Check spring tension: Replace or reattach any broken or stretched springs that return the sensor to its normal position.
  • Recalibrate (if supported): Some models allow a sensor calibration via a service menu. Follow the manual to recalibrate the lift sensor while the mower is on a flat surface.

When to replace: Replace the lift sensor assembly if it cannot be adjusted to operate reliably.
