Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation openings, Mowing in direct sun at high ambient temperature, Defective temperature sensor on main PCB, Failing blade or drive motor drawing excessive current and heating electronics

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the mower OFF and allow it to cool in a shaded, dry place for at least 30 minutes.

  • Check ventilation: Inspect all cooling slots and openings in the Parkside mower housing. Remove packed grass, dust, and spider webs with a soft brush and compressed air.
  • Operating conditions: Avoid scheduling mowing during the hottest part of the day. Program the mower to run in the early morning or evening.
  • Inspect motors: After cooling, run the mower with the housing open (if safe and allowed by the manual) and feel for a motor that becomes very hot quickly. A seizing motor can overheat the system.
  • Check temperature sensor: Locate the thermistor or temperature sensor on the main PCB (often near power components). Ensure it is firmly attached and its wires are intact.
  • Firmware reset: Some Parkside models allow a factory reset via the keypad. Perform a reset to clear any software glitches, then test again.

When to replace: If E8 occurs even when the mower is cool and lightly loaded, the temperature sensor or main PCB is likely defective.
