Possible Causes

How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the battery and charger before opening the housing.
- Inspect keypad area: Check for visible cracks in the top control panel, signs of water ingress under the display window, or stuck keys.
- Open top cover: Remove the screws securing the top housing and gently lift it to access the keypad PCB and ribbon cable.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Carefully unplug the flat cable from both the keypad PCB and the main PCB. Inspect the contacts for corrosion, then reinsert fully and lock any retaining clips.
- Dry and clean: If moisture is present, dry the area thoroughly and clean the PCB with isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry completely before reassembly.
- Test operation: Reconnect the battery, power ON, and check if the keypad responds and E9 clears.
When to replace: If some keys remain unresponsive or E9 persists, replace the complete keypad/display module.
