Possible Causes
Worn blade motor bearings, Loose blade disc, Foreign object trapped under deck, Worn drive motor gearbox
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the mower, remove the battery, and wear hearing and hand protection when testing.
- Inspect underside: Turn the mower over and remove any trapped stones, branches, or toys from around the blade disc and wheels.
- Check blade disc mounting: Ensure the central bolt or nut holding the disc to the motor shaft is tight. Use the correct torque as specified by Parkside.
- Spin components by hand: Rotate the blade disc and each wheel. Listen for grinding or clicking that indicates bearing or gearbox wear.
- Isolate source: Run the mower briefly with the blade motor disabled (if your model allows a wheel test) to determine whether the noise comes from the blade or drive system.
When to replace: Replace the noisy motor or gearbox assembly. Operating with failing bearings can lead to motor seizure and further damage.
