Possible Causes
Defective tilt sensor module, Loose tilt sensor mounting, Corrupted tilt calibration data, Damaged tilt sensor wiring to main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the main power and remove the battery connector before opening any covers.
- Check operating conditions: Confirm the mower is not being used on slopes steeper than the Segway specification. Excessive tilt can legitimately trigger E02.
- Inspect tilt sensor module: The tilt sensor (often a small PCB with an accelerometer) is usually mounted near the center of the chassis. Verify that its mounting screws are tight and that it is not loose or rattling.
- Clean and dry: Look for signs of moisture or corrosion around the tilt sensor. Dry gently with a cloth and allow the mower to sit in a dry area for several hours if moisture is present.
- Check harness and connector: Follow the tilt sensor cable to the main control board. Reseat the connector and inspect for broken or pulled wires.
- Reboot and recalibrate (if menu option exists): Some Segway models allow a tilt/IMU calibration from the settings menu. Place the mower on a perfectly level surface and run the calibration procedure.
If E02 continues on level ground, the tilt sensor module is likely defective and should be replaced.
