Possible Causes
Front bumper jammed with debris, Bumper microswitch damaged, Bumper spring broken, Bumper sensor cable disconnected
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and remove it from the lawn.
- Check bumper movement: Press the front bumper in and release it. It should move freely and spring back. If it feels stuck, inspect for grass, mud, or stones wedged between bumper and chassis.
- Clean bumper area: Use a brush and water‑damp cloth to remove dirt. Do not use high‑pressure water.
- Inspect microswitches: With the top cover removed (power OFF), locate the bumper microswitches or sensor bar. Ensure they click when the bumper is pressed and that their mounting screws are tight.
- Check wiring: Follow the bumper sensor cable to the main board. Reseat the connector and look for broken or pinched wires.
- Test: Power ON, gently press the bumper while the mower is in test mode (if available) to confirm the sensor is detected. If E6 remains, the bumper switch assembly may need replacement.
