Possible Causes

Aged lithium battery pack, Loose battery connector, Faulty battery temperature sensor, Defective battery cell

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and remove it from the lawn before opening any covers.

  • Check charging behavior: Place the mower in the station and observe if it begins charging (charging icon or LED). If it leaves the station quickly and shows E8, the battery may not hold charge.
  • Inspect battery connections: Remove the battery cover (usually under the top or rear cover). Ensure the battery connector is fully seated on the main board or battery harness.
  • Look for swelling or damage: If the battery pack is swollen, leaking, or has a burnt smell, do not use it. Replace immediately with a genuine Stiga battery pack of the same specification.
  • Temperature conditions: Very low or high ambient temperatures can trigger battery protection. Try charging and operating the mower between 10–30°C.
  • Runtime test: After full charge, start a manual mow and time how long it runs before E8. If runtime is much shorter than specified, the battery is likely worn out.

Warning: Do not open or attempt to repair the battery pack. Always replace as a complete unit.
