Possible Causes
Worn blade motor bearings, Loose cutting disc, Bent blade carrier, Foreign object stuck under deck
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and remove it from the lawn. Wear gloves.
- Inspect underside: Flip the mower and look for stones, branches, or toys lodged near the blade disc or deck.
- Check disc and blades: Ensure the cutting disc is tight on the motor shaft and that blades are not bent or hitting the deck. Replace damaged parts.
- Spin test: Rotate the cutting disc by hand. Roughness or grinding indicates worn motor bearings.
- Noise localization: Run the mower briefly upside down with blades disabled (if service mode allows) to listen for bearing noise. If loud, replace the blade motor assembly.
