Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation openings, Operation in direct intense sunlight, Faulty temperature sensor on PCB, Internal PCB damage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch the mower OFF and remove it from direct sunlight.

  • Inspect ventilation: Check for grass clippings or dirt blocking any cooling slots or vents in the mower housing. Clean with a soft brush or compressed air (low pressure).
  • Check ambient conditions: Avoid scheduling mowing during the hottest part of the day. Adjust the iMOW schedule to early morning or evening when temperatures are lower.
  • Cool-down period: Allow the mower to cool indoors or in a shaded area for at least 1–2 hours, then restart.

If E10 recurs under normal temperatures and with clean vents, the main control PCB or its temperature sensor is likely defective and should be replaced by a Stihl service center.
