How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the mower OFF and remove the key (if equipped) before opening any covers.

  • Inspect display connection: If accessible per the user manual, carefully open the control panel housing and check that the ribbon cable or connector between the display module and main PCB is fully seated.
  • Power cycle: Disconnect the mower from the docking station, switch OFF for 2–3 minutes, then switch ON again to reset the electronics.
  • Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or water inside the control panel. Allow the mower to dry thoroughly in a warm, dry place if moisture is present.

Persistent E12 errors indicate a deeper communication or PCB fault. Have the mower inspected with Stihl diagnostic tools and replace the main PCB or display module as required.
