Possible Causes
Incorrect guide wire connection, Guide wire break, Misaligned docking station relative to guide wire, Damaged guide wire output on docking station
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the mower OFF and unplug the docking station.
- Verify guide wire routing: Ensure the guide wire is installed according to the Stihl layout plan, running straight into the docking station for at least 1–2 m without sharp bends.
- Check connections: Open the docking station and confirm the guide wire is connected to the correct terminals (separate from the perimeter loop). Tighten any loose screws.
- Inspect for damage: Walk along the guide wire path and look for cuts or damage. Repair any breaks using Stihl waterproof connectors.
- Test docking: After reconnecting power, place the mower a few meters along the guide wire and start a docking command. Observe whether it follows the wire accurately into the base.
If E13 persists and the guide wire is intact, the docking station’s guide wire driver circuit may be defective and should be replaced.
