Possible Causes

Front hood deformed or misaligned, Debris jammed in bumper mechanism, Broken bumper spring, Faulty bumper switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch the mower OFF before handling the hood or bumper.

  • Check hood movement: Gently press the front hood in and release. It should move smoothly and return fully. If it sticks, clean the hinge and side gaps with a brush.
  • Inspect for damage: Look for cracks or deformation of the hood or bumper that could keep the sensor engaged. Replace damaged plastic parts.
  • Manual reset: Some models allow a manual reset of the hood sensor by fully pressing and releasing it several times with the mower OFF.

If the sensor remains triggered or E14 persists, the internal bumper switch or sensor assembly may need replacement by a service technician.
