How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the mower OFF before moving it.
- Relocate mower: Manually carry the mower back inside the perimeter and place it on level ground. Switch ON and restart.
- Check boundary layout: Ensure the perimeter wire is installed according to Stihl guidelines, with correct distances from edges, walls, and water features.
- Reduce interference: Keep the perimeter wire away from other buried cables or strong electromagnetic sources.
If E17 occurs frequently even when the mower is clearly inside the boundary, the perimeter sensor in the mower may be defective and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
