How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the mower OFF and inspect the area where the impact occurred.
- Inspect chassis: Look for cracks, bent plastic, or misalignment of the body that could affect sensor readings.
- Check obstacle clearance: Remove or mark hard obstacles (stones, posts, steps) and adjust the perimeter wire to keep the mower away from them.
- Restart: After inspection, move the mower to a clear area, switch ON, and start a manual mowing cycle.
If E18 recurs without obvious impacts, the internal shock or obstacle sensor may be faulty and should be replaced by a Stihl service center.
