Possible Causes
Battery cell imbalance, Battery pack over-temperature, Aged or worn-out battery, Faulty battery management electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the mower OFF and do not attempt to open the battery pack; it is not user-serviceable.
- Allow cooling: If the mower has been operating in high ambient temperatures or direct sun, move it to a shaded, cool area and allow it to rest for at least 1 hour, then attempt charging again.
- Check charging contacts: Clean the charging contacts on the mower and docking station to ensure proper current flow.
- Observe charging behavior: Place the mower in the docking station and monitor the display and LEDs. If E9 reappears quickly or the mower fails to charge, the battery is likely defective.
Battery packs in Stihl iMOW units contain integrated electronics and must be replaced as a complete assembly by an authorized Stihl dealer to ensure safety and compatibility.
