Possible Causes
Guide wire not installed or broken, Docking station placed incorrectly, Obstacles blocking path to dock, Weak perimeter/guide signal near dock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the mower OFF before moving it.
- Manually dock: Carry the mower to the docking station and ensure it charges correctly.
- Check guide wire: Confirm that a guide wire is installed and connected, and that it leads from remote areas back to the dock without sharp turns or obstacles.
- Relocate obstacles: Remove items that may block the mower’s approach to the dock, such as pots, hoses, or toys.
- Reposition dock: If the dock is in a tight corner or on a slope, move it to a more open, level area as recommended in the Stihl manual.
Persistent homing issues with a correct layout may indicate a faulty guide wire driver or perimeter sensor, requiring service.
