Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the main power switch OFF and remove the mower from the lawn. Remove the key (if equipped). Wear cut-resistant gloves before touching the blades.
- Step 1 – Flip mower safely: Place the mower upside down on a soft surface so you can access the cutting disc.
- Step 2 – Clear debris: Remove grass clumps, twine, branches, or stones from around the cutting disc and blade motor housing. Ensure the disc can rotate freely by hand.
- Step 3 – Inspect disc and blades: Check the Sunseeker cutting disc for warping or cracks. Replace if bent. Replace any broken or excessively worn pivoting blades.
- Step 4 – Check motor rotation: With power still OFF, rotate the disc by hand. It should spin smoothly without grinding. If it is stiff or seized, the blade motor bearings may be damaged.
- Step 5 – Test again: Return the mower upright, power ON, and start a manual mow. If E04 reappears immediately with no mechanical obstruction, the blade motor or its driver circuit on the main control board may be faulty.
Do not continue to reset and run the mower if the motor is overheating or making burning smells; replace the blade motor assembly or consult a technician.
