Possible Causes
Dirty or damaged wheel encoder disc, Faulty wheel speed sensor, Loose encoder connector, Damaged drive motor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and remove it from the lawn before lifting or tilting.
- Step 1 – Inspect wheel hubs: Remove the drive wheels to access the Sunseeker wheel encoder discs (if external). Clean off grass and dirt.
- Step 2 – Check encoder discs: Ensure the discs are not cracked, bent, or missing segments.
- Step 3 – Clean sensors: Gently clean the optical or magnetic sensors near the discs with a dry brush.
- Step 4 – Verify wiring: Follow the encoder/speed sensor wires back to the main board and ensure connectors are tight and cables undamaged.
- Step 5 – Test drive: Refit wheels and run a short test. If E13 appears only when one wheel moves, that side's encoder or motor is suspect.
Persistent E13 usually requires replacement of the affected wheel motor/encoder assembly or the speed sensor module.
