Possible Causes
Contaminated rain sensor surface, Faulty rain sensor module, Shorted rain sensor wiring, Incorrect rain sensor calibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower before cleaning the sensor area.
- Step 1 – Locate rain sensor: Find the Sunseeker rain sensor (usually on the top housing as a small grid or pad).
- Step 2 – Clean sensor: Wipe the sensor gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, pollen, or sap. Dry thoroughly.
- Step 3 – Check for water pooling: Ensure the sensor area drains properly and is not covered by accessories or debris.
- Step 4 – Inspect wiring: From inside the housing, verify the rain sensor cable is intact and firmly connected to the main board.
- Step 5 – Settings check: In the mower menu or app, verify rain sensor settings and delays are configured correctly.
If E16 persists in dry conditions with a clean sensor, replace the rain sensor module.
