Possible Causes
Internal gearbox wear, Water ingress into gearbox, Bent axle, Debris lodged in gear teeth
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower before working on the wheels.
- Step 1 – Compare sides: Try rotating each drive wheel by hand. Identify which side is stiff.
- Step 2 – Remove wheel: Take off the Sunseeker drive wheel and inspect for debris around the gearbox output shaft.
- Step 3 – Check for play: Wiggle the shaft. Excessive play or grinding indicates internal gearbox damage.
- Step 4 – Replace assembly: Replace the affected drive motor/gearbox assembly as a complete unit; gearboxes are typically not serviceable.
