Possible Causes
Loose cutting disc mounting bolt, Worn blade pivot pins, Debris trapped between disc and chassis, Failing blade motor bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower, remove the key (if present), and wait for the blade to stop completely. Wear gloves.
- Step 1 – Inspect disc mounting: Flip the mower and check that the central bolt securing the Sunseeker cutting disc is tight. Tighten to the specified torque if loose.
- Step 2 – Check blades: Wiggle each pivoting blade. They should swing freely without excessive play. Replace worn blades and pivot screws.
- Step 3 – Remove debris: Clear any stones, twigs, or compacted grass from around the disc and motor housing.
- Step 4 – Listen to motor: Rotate the disc by hand. If you feel roughness or hear grinding from the motor, the bearings may be worn and the motor should be replaced.
