Possible Causes
Stuck front bumper, Broken bumper microswitch, Damaged bumper spring mechanism, Disconnected bumper sensor cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the main power switch OFF and remove the mower from the lawn.
- Check bumper movement: Gently press the front bumper in and release. It should move freely and spring back. Remove any grass, twigs, or stones jammed around the bumper edges.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracks or deformation in the bumper shell that could prevent proper movement.
- Access bumper switches: On many TerraMow models, the top cover can be removed to access the bumper microswitches. Verify the switch bracket is not bent and the wiring harness is connected.
- Test operation: With the mower on and lifted safely (blades disabled by lift sensor), gently press the bumper to see if the error toggles. If the error remains constant, the switch or sensor board is likely faulty.
- Replace if needed: Install a new TerraMow front bumper switch assembly or bumper sensor board if physical repair is not possible.
