Possible Causes
Grass or debris jammed in drive wheels, Worn wheel bearings, Damaged drive gearbox, Faulty drive motor current sensor on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the mower OFF and remove it from the lawn before working near the wheels.
- Clear wheel area: Inspect both rear drive wheels and front casters. Remove packed grass, mud, stones, or branches that could block rotation.
- Check wheel rotation: With power OFF, rotate each drive wheel by hand. They should turn smoothly with some gearbox resistance but no binding.
- Inspect axles and bearings: Look for wobble or grinding noises when spinning the wheels. Excessive play suggests worn bearings or a damaged hub.
- Test on flat ground: Place the TerraMow on a flat, dry surface and start a short test run. If E09 appears immediately, the drive motor or current sensing circuit may be faulty.
- Replace components as needed: Install a new TerraMow drive motor/gearbox assembly for the affected side if mechanical binding is found. If both sides fail simultaneously, suspect the main control board.
