Possible Causes

Front bumper jammed by debris, Bumper springs damaged, Bumper switch or sensor out of position, Bumper sensor wiring loose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the main power and keep the mower on a stable surface before inspecting the bumper.

Steps to check:

  • Press test: Gently press the front bumper in and release. It should move freely and spring back evenly across its width.
  • Remove debris: Check the gap between the bumper and chassis for packed grass, twigs, or stones. Clean thoroughly with a brush and cloth.
  • Inspect springs and mounts: Remove the top cover if needed and inspect the bumper springs and mounting points. Replace any broken springs.
  • Check bumper switch/sensor: Locate the bumper switch or sensor bar on the Worx mower and ensure it is firmly attached and its connector to the main PCB is secure.
  • Reset: Reassemble, power ON, and gently push the mower into a soft obstacle to confirm the bumper triggers and releases correctly.

When to call a technician: If E7 persists with a free‑moving bumper, the bumper sensor or main board may be defective and should be tested and replaced by a service center.
