Possible Causes
Debris jammed behind front bumper, Broken bumper spring or microswitch, Misaligned bumper frame after impact
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the mower OFF and wait for blades to stop before working near the bumper.
- Check bumper movement: Gently press and release the front bumper across its width. It should move freely and spring back. If it feels stuck, inspect for twigs, stones, or packed grass.
- Clean behind bumper: Use a brush or compressed air to remove debris from the gap between the bumper and chassis.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracks, bent brackets, or missing springs. If the bumper is visibly deformed, it may not release the collision switches properly.
- Test after cleaning: Power the mower ON and start a manual test or short mowing cycle to see if E09 reappears.
If the error persists and the bumper feels loose or non‑responsive, the bumper sensor assembly should be replaced.
