Possible Causes
Grass, mud, or stones jammed in drive wheel, Worn or seized wheel motor gearbox, Damaged drive wheel motor cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Switch OFF the mower and remove it from the lawn. Never attempt to clear jams with the unit powered.
- Inspect drive wheels: Check both rear drive wheels for wrapped grass, string, or roots around the axles. Remove any obstructions with pliers or a brush.
- Check wheel rotation: Manually rotate each drive wheel. They should turn smoothly with some resistance from the gearbox. A wheel that is locked or very rough indicates internal damage.
- Clean wheel treads: Remove packed mud from the treads to reduce load on the motor, especially after wet mowing.
- Test on flat ground: After cleaning, place the mower on a flat, dry surface and start a short test run. If E10 returns immediately on one side, that wheel motor/gearbox assembly may need replacement.
