Steps:

• 1. Close cover firmly: Ensure the top cover is fully closed and latched. Press down until you hear a click.
• 2. Inspect latch and hinges: Check for broken plastic around the latch or hinges that may prevent full closure.
• 3. Locate cover switch: Open the cover and find the microswitch or magnetic sensor. Verify that the actuator or magnet on the cover lines up correctly when closed.
• 4. Adjust or replace parts: If the magnet is loose, re‑glue it with suitable adhesive. If the switch is physically damaged or intermittent, replace the cover switch assembly.

Do not bypass the cover sensor; it is a safety feature to stop blades when the cover is opened.
