Possible Causes

LIDAR turret blocked by dust, Turret motor stuck, LIDAR window scratched, LIDAR cable loose or sensor failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and keep fingers away from the rotating laser turret.

  • 1. Clean LIDAR window: If your Amazon Basics model has a raised circular turret, gently wipe the transparent window with a soft, dry cloth.
  • 2. Check turret rotation: Gently nudge the turret to ensure it can rotate freely. Do not force it.
  • 3. Remove obstructions: Make sure no stickers, tape, or objects are touching the turret.
  • 4. Restart mapping: Power ON the robot and start a cleaning or mapping run in an open area.
  • 5. If E16 persists: The LIDAR sensor module or its motor may be defective. Replacement requires opening the top cover, disconnecting the LIDAR harness, and installing a new module. This is an advanced repair and may void warranty if done by the user.
