Possible Causes
Robot started on uneven surface, Internal gyroscope miscalibrated, Shock or drop damage to IMU, Loose IMU connector on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Place the robot on a flat, level floor and ensure it is powered OFF.
- 1. Power cycle: Turn the robot OFF using the power switch, wait 30 seconds, then turn it ON again while it is on a level surface.
- 2. Perform calibration (if supported): Some Amazon Basics models allow sensor calibration via the mobile app or a button sequence. Check the user manual for a "sensor reset" or "gyroscope calibration" procedure and follow it exactly.
- 3. Avoid moving during startup: Do not lift or rotate the robot while it is booting, as this can interfere with orientation calibration.
- 4. If E9 persists: The IMU/gyroscope module on the main control board may be faulty or its connector loose. Accessing it requires opening the top cover and inspecting the main PCB. Replacement of the main board is often required and is best done by a service center.
