Possible Causes
Side brush tangled with hair or cords, Side brush hub cracked or deformed, Side brush motor seized, Side brush gearbox contaminated with debris
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Power OFF the robot and remove it from the dock before working on the underside.
Steps:
- Turn the robot upside down on a towel.
- Inspect the side brush: On most Bagotte models there is one side brush held by a screw. Check for hair, string, or wires wrapped around the base.
- Remove the side brush: Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the center screw, then pull the brush straight off the shaft.
- Clean the shaft and hub: Remove all hair and debris from the shaft and the underside of the side brush. Use tweezers if needed.
- Check motor rotation: Gently turn the exposed motor shaft with your fingers. It should rotate smoothly. If it is stiff, gritty, or does not move, the side brush motor or gearbox is likely damaged.
- Reinstall or replace brush: If the plastic hub is cracked or the bristles are badly bent, install a new Bagotte side brush. Tighten the screw snugly but do not overtighten.
- Test the robot: Power ON and start a cleaning cycle. Watch the side brush; it should spin freely without wobbling.
- If E2 remains: Replace the side brush motor assembly or the entire bottom chassis with side brush motor if the motor is not sold separately for your model.
