Possible Causes
Dirty charging contacts on robot, Dirty or corroded contacts on dock, Misaligned charging dock placement, Faulty charging contact spring on robot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the charging dock from the wall before cleaning contacts.
Steps:
- Inspect dock placement: Ensure the Bagotte charging dock is on a hard, flat surface with at least 1 m (3 ft) clear space in front and 0.5 m (1.5 ft) on each side.
- Clean robot contacts: On the front or underside of the robot, locate the metal charging pads. Wipe them with a dry cloth. If tarnished, lightly dampen the cloth with isopropyl alcohol and clean again.
- Clean dock contacts: Wipe the two metal contacts on the dock in the same way. Make sure they are not bent or recessed.
- Check contact springs: Gently press the robot’s charging contacts (if spring-loaded). They should move freely and spring back. If stuck, carefully free them; if broken, the charging contact module must be replaced.
- Reconnect power: Plug the dock back in and confirm the power indicator is lit.
- Test docking: Place the robot about 1 m in front of the dock and press the Home/Dock button. Watch to see if it aligns and makes solid contact (charging light should come on).
- If E7 persists: Replace the charging contact assembly on the robot or the Bagotte charging dock if the dock contacts are damaged or the dock is not powering.
