Possible Causes

Charging dock placed poorly, Infrared homing signal blocked, Dirty front IR receiver, Weak battery preventing return trip

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No special hazards; keep area clear while testing.

Steps:

  • Reposition dock: Place the Bagotte dock against a wall on a hard, flat surface with at least 1 m (3 ft) clear in front and 0.5 m (1.5 ft) on each side.
  • Clean IR windows: Wipe the front of the dock and the front sensor area of the robot with a soft cloth.
  • Remove obstacles: Clear objects that may block line-of-sight between robot and dock, such as furniture legs or tall items.
  • Test homing: Start the robot near the dock and press the Home/Dock button. Observe if it can locate and approach the dock.
  • Battery check: If the robot dies before reaching the dock, replace the battery pack.
  • If still failing: The IR homing sensor on the robot or the charging dock may be defective and require replacement.
