Possible Causes
Internal gyroscope calibration lost, Strong magnetic or impact event affecting sensors, Loose internal navigation sensor connector, Faulty IMU (inertial measurement unit) board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the robot is powered off and on a stable surface.
- Reboot the robot: Turn the power switch off (if present), wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Alternatively, perform a soft reset via the app or buttons.
- Calibrate on level surface: Place the robot on a flat, level floor and initiate any available calibration or reset procedure described in the user manual or app.
- Check for impact damage: Inspect the housing for cracks or signs of a heavy drop that may have dislodged internal components.
- Update firmware: Use the Bissell app to check for and install any firmware updates that may address navigation issues.
- If E6 persists: The internal navigation/IMU board may be defective or disconnected. Replacement of the navigation sensor board (IMU) is typically a technician-level repair requiring disassembly of the top shell.
