Possible Causes
Debris jammed in left drive wheel, Debris jammed in right drive wheel, Faulty wheel encoder sensor, Damaged drive motor gearbox
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch the robot OFF and remove it from the dock. Turn it upside down on a soft surface to avoid scratching sensors.
- 1. Inspect both drive wheels: Rotate each wheel by hand. They should turn smoothly with some resistance. If a wheel is stuck or feels gritty, look for hair, threads, or carpet fibers wrapped around the wheel axle.
- 2. Remove debris: Use tweezers or small scissors to carefully cut and pull away any wrapped hair or fibers from the wheel hubs and axles. Avoid cutting rubber treads.
- 3. Check wheel travel: Press each wheel up and down. It should move freely in its suspension. If it is stuck in the up or down position, gently work it free while removing debris.
- 4. Clean side brushes: If side brushes are bent into the wheel area, remove them (usually a single screw) and clean the brush hubs. Reinstall firmly.
- 5. Test again: Place the robot on the floor, power it on, and start a cleaning cycle. If E02 reappears, the drive motor or encoder may be faulty and require professional replacement.
