Possible Causes
Hair or string wrapped around main brush, Debris jammed in brush end caps, Worn or seized brush bearings, Faulty brush motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and flip it over on a soft surface.
- 1. Remove the main brush: Open the brush guard (usually two clips) and lift out the Bosch main roller brush.
- 2. Clear wrapped debris: Use scissors or a seam ripper to cut away hair and threads along the entire length of the brush, especially near the ends.
- 3. Clean end caps and bearings: Many Bosch brushes have removable end caps. Pull them off and remove any hair or dust from the shafts and sockets. Ensure the brush spins freely when held by the shaft.
- 4. Inspect brush cavity: Check the brush housing for lodged objects (toys, stones). Remove anything that could block rotation.
- 5. Reinstall and test: Refit the brush and close the guard securely. Start a cleaning cycle. If E05 returns quickly, the brush motor or its gearbox may be worn and require replacement.
