Possible Causes
Dirty IR receiver window on robot, Dirty IR emitter on charging station, Misaligned charging station placement, Faulty dock IR board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the charging station is unplugged before cleaning its contacts or sensors.
- 1. Clean IR windows: On the robot, locate the front‑facing dark plastic window used for dock detection and wipe it with a microfiber cloth. Do the same for the IR window on the charging station.
- 2. Reposition the dock: Place the Bosch charging station against a wall with at least 0.5 m of clear space on each side and 1.5 m in front. Avoid placing it near mirrors, stairs, or under furniture.
- 3. Check station power: Verify the dock’s power LED is on. Try a different wall outlet if necessary.
- 4. Test return‑to‑dock: Start the robot a few meters in front of the dock and press the Home/Return button. Observe whether it detects and approaches the station.
- 5. If E09 continues: The IR receiver on the robot or the emitter on the dock may be defective. Replacement of the charging station or internal IR board may be required.
